On September 11th and 12th at locations near the villages of Bratindol and Rotino in Bitola, two trainings – demonstration exercises on the topic: Operational management of forest fires, intended for forest rangers and firefighting units of the Pelagonian region.
The trainings are part of the activities of the project PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT OF CROSS-BORDER COMPLEX FLOODS AND FOREST FIRES – SOLVE, which is implemented by the Center for Development of the Pelagonian Planning Region within the Program for Cross-border Cooperation with Greece 2014-2020 which is part of the European Preventive Assistance Instrument Union.
The main goal of the project is: To minimize the risks of forest fires (urban and wild) and floods in the region in a way that can be replicated in other regions.
Through the same project, firefighting equipment for the territorial fire units of Bitola, Prilep, Resen, Krushevo and Demir Hisar was also purchased.\n
The training was attended by representatives of all territorial fire units in the region as well as representatives from the Pelister National Park.
The Center for Development of the Pelagonian Plan Region implemented these activities in coordination with the Pelister National Park, CUK, SZS and all other relevant stakeholders in the field of fire protection in the region.
