SOLVE PROJECT

On 17.05.2023 in Bitola within the project “PREVENTION AND MANAGEMENT OF CROSS-BORDER COMPLEX FLOODS AND FOREST FIRES SOLVE” an event for the promotion and handover of newly acquired equipment that the Center for Development of the Pelagonian Plan Region procured for the 5 territorial fire units from Bitola, Prilep, Resen, Demir Hisar and Krushevo.

TPPE Bitola has procured 32 intervention protective suits, for the other 4 TPPE has procured forest fire kits, Prilep 30 kits, 12 kits for Resen, 7 kits for Demir Hisar and 9 kits for forest fire suits for Krushevo.\n The procurement of fire-fighting equipment is to improve the capacity of fire-fighting units and is just one of the activities of the SOLVE project.

The main goal of the project is: To minimize the risks of forest fires (urban and wild) and floods in the region in a way that can be replicated in other regions.

SOLVE’s contribution in shifting the current situation in this region is significant precisely because of the fact that besides it contributes to the equipping of fire units in the region, but also establishes a network of cooperation and communication between them that can continue to serve as\n a platform for their advancement and modernization.

At the event in the presence of the Minister of Local Self-Government Mr. Risto Penov, President of the Development Council of the Pelagonian Plan Region Dr. Borce Jovceski, Mayor of the Municipality of Bitola Dr. Tony Konjanovski, Rector of the University of St. Kliment Ohrid Prof. Dr. Igor Nedelkovski, Mayors of the municipalities of the Pelagonia region as well as other concerned parties, in addition to the supply of equipment, a presentation of the overall project implementation was made. The Center for Development of the Pelagonian Planning Region implements this project within the framework of the Program for Cross-border Cooperation with Greece 2014-2020 which is part of the European Union Instrument Assistance co-financed by the North Macedonia Ministry of Local Self-Government.
